Ken Eschete has done concert tuning for Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and New Zealand International Piano Festival. As Head Technician at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, Ken regularly tuned for major concert artists for 13 years.
Pianists have included Stephen Hough. Emanuel Ax, Daniel Barenboim, Yefim Bronfman, Misha Dichter, Leon Fleischer, Richard Goode, Eugine Istomin, Ursulla Oppins, Sylvia Wong, Alan Chow, James Giles, John Perry, Manachem Pressler, Maxim Shostikovich, Phillipe Entramont and Susan Starr.
Other musicians that have performed using pianos that Ken prepared for their concert collaboration are Renée Fleming, YoYo Ma, Frank Sinatra, Winton Marseilles, John Adams, Thomas Hampson, Lynn Harrell, Randy Newman, George Winston and Susan Grahm.
Speaking engagements have included masterclass presentations for the Piano Technicians Guild, the Australasian Piano Tuner Technican Association, NZ Conservators, American Musical Instrument Society, and American Institute of Conservators.
Museums that have contracted Mr. Eschete for conservation of historic pianos include the Smithsonian Institution, U.S. National Park Service Historic Mansions, Chrysler Museum, Chicago History Museum, Louisiana State Museum, Motat.
